Description:
(more is better)
Upon completion of the Orientation Phase, adolescents are engaged in academics and are preparing to transition back into their family environment. In the home-like setting, children learn to honor house rules, communicate effectively, and organize their daily lives. They create weekly goals and use staff feedback to maintain a focus on a positive future. During this portion of the program, adolescents are consistently evaluated, and when ready, they are given an opportunity to gain employment and attend other activities outside of the Turning Windsfacility. Weekly counseling sessions are held in order to optimize emotional growth and students are encouraged to participate in a variety of outdoor recreational activities such as skiing, basketball, volleyball and boating. Additional activities such as going to the movies, bowling or shopping at the mall can be earned based on the studentís progression.
