Program Description:
Teen DARP is the only outpatient drug and alcohol recovery program for adolescents in the Tri-Valley. The program begins with a five week series of sessions in a small group setting. Sessions are held three times a week. After the initial phase, the program is customized to meet the needs of each program participant. Families are an important element in recovery, and parents are strongly encouraged to attend counseling sessions. Free parenting classes are also available for parents and guardians of program participants. How are teens referred to the program? Teens are usually referred by their schools, probation officers, police departments and parents. Teens may also seek help personally. This program is under the direction of Debra Eberhart, a certified drug and alcohol counselor. The program staff includes certified drug and alcohol counselors and educators. Fees are charged on a sliding scale based on income and family size.
