What is a troubled teen boarding school? In lamans terms taken from the title, I would say a boarding school for troubled teens is a "School where youth who have made poor decisions board."
Simple right, well, it may be a little more complicated than that, as we will see.
Boarding schools by there right, are schools where students actually live. They can earn the right to leave to visit family and friends, as well as family can visit the teens at the boarding school, but for the most part they live and stay on the schools campus.
Boarding schools for troubled teens should not be confused with "private schools." While private schools are geared toward more enriched structured learning that can't be found in public schools, boarding schools for troubled teens are geared toward behavioral correction.
Typically students will stay one to two years in a boarding school. These programs provide students will all the necessities they will need to succeed. Counseling and Therapy are a big aspect of life in these programs. Group effort and projects are done almost daily.
Lecture seminars, leadership training skills and many other talents are developed while attending. Most of these schools take kids against there will. While the laws very from state to state, typically students may attend between the ages of 12-18.
